Mobile Tail Enclosure (MTE)
Location:
Lockheed Martin
Client: Lockheed Martin Aircraft Center, Inc.

These structures, completed in 1996, provide cover for the empennage of wide-body aircraft such as the L-1011, DC-10, or MD-11. The structures are rail mounted and moved by towing with an aircraft tug and can be placed into position in less than ten minutes. DMC provided concept design, engineering design, as well as supply, fabrication, and construction of the structures.

Mobile Tail Enclosure (MTE)
Location:
Lockheed Martin
Client: Lockheed Martin Aircraft Center, Inc.

This unique award winning structure provides cover for exposed aircraft during maintenance. The structure is mounted on wheels and can be moved to various positions as required. The structure is over seventy feet tall and will cover the empennage of large wide-body aircraft. DMC provided concept design, engineering design, and supervision, complete project and construction management, and financial management.

Bi-Parting Empennage Enclosure (BPEE)
Location:
Lockheed Martin
Client: Lockheed Martin Aircraft Center, Inc.

This structure, completed in 1996, is one of six BPEE's that allow two P-3 aircraft to be fully enclosed in each hangar. This allowed the client to double the number of aircraft that can fully enclose at on time. The BPEE consists of two three-sided boxes – "clamshells" – set on rails running parallel with the hangar doors. The outer rail is surface mounted and the inner rail is suspended above the structure to maximize clearances. DMC provided concept design, engineering design, as well as supply, fabrication, and construction of the structures.

Aircraft Hangar Extension
Location:
Lockheed Martin
Client: Lockheed Martin Aircraft Center, Inc.

This 23,000 foot aircraft hangar extension was remotely constructed. The complete roof structure including insulation, decking, lights, and fire protection was installed at the remote location, thereby virtually eliminating construction downtime for the owner. DMC provided concept design, engineering design, and supervision, complete project and construction management, and financial management.

Mobile Tail Enclosure (MTE)
Location: McGuire AFB, New Jersey
Client: U.S. Air Force

This structure, completed in 1995, provides cover for the empennage of KC-10 refueling aircraft. The MTE is wheel-mounted and can be moved to various locations using aircraft towing vehicles. The MTE is approximately 78 feet high by 100 feet wide. The MTE has explosion proof lighting and a full fire protection system. DMC provided concept design, engineering design, as well as supply, fabrication, and construction of the structure.

Bi-Parting Empennage Enclosure (BPEE)
Location: Camp Humphreys, South Korea
Client: U.S. Army

This structure, completed in 1997, is one of two BPEE's that allow a special surveillance aircraft to be fully enclosed. The BPEE consists of two three-sided boxes – "clamshells" – set on rails running parallel with the hangar doors. DMC provided concept design, engineering design, as well as supply, fabrication, and construction of the structures.

Bi-Parting Empennage Enclosure (BPEE)
Owner:
United States Air Force
Location: Hurlburt Field, Florida

Expansion of this existing hangar included construction of bi-parting empennage enclosures to allow for complete enclosure of the C-130 aircraft. The aircraft is placed tailout in the existing hangar and the self-powered enclosures are moved over the aircraft to completely cover the tail section of the aircraft. DM Constructors provided concept design, final design and engineering, supply of all materials and construction of all structures.
